Geasey Field Renovation Update 7/2/2009 - W. Lacrosse Geasey Field, home to Temple's field hockey and lacrosse teams, is undergoing a major renovation this summer and head coaches Amanda Janney and Bonnie Rosen are checking in to tell fans all about it. Former Men's Basketball Standout Chris Clark Named Assistant Coach At Saint Franics (Pa.) 7/1/2009 - M. Basketball Former Temple University point guard Chris Clark has joined the Saint Francis University men's basketball coaching staff, SFU head coach Don Friday announced on Wednesday. Clark, who is believed to be the only person to ever play under three legendary Philadelphia coaches - John Chaney, Fran Dunphy and Speedy Morris. has already begun his coaching duties, and will be heavily involved in the development of the Red Flash guards. Temple's field hockey program was well represented at the United States Field Hockey Association's (USFHA) 2009 National Championship, with assistant coaches Beth Riley and Jamie Whitten helping team New Jersey to the title. Dr. George Edberg-Olson passed away on Monday afternoon. For more than six decades, Dr. Edberg-Olson was a dedicated fan and financial supporter of Temple University Athletics. In 2000, he gave a $1 million bequest for the Temple football complex which bears his name. Read More >
Temple senior All-America midfielder J.T. Noone will lead the Ocean City Barons against one of the most storied clubs in American Soccer, D.C. United, Tuesday night (7:30 p.m.) in the Third Round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. The Barons are the only amateur club left in the tournament and will attempt to become the first PDL team in history to advance to the Quarterfinals of the 95-year old tournament, To do that, they will have to find a way to upset the defending U.S. Open Cup champions at the Maryland Soccerplex in Boyds, MD.
