Plisko ties for second among 90 golfers

FLOURTOWN, PA -- Temple's Eric Plisko carded a one-under par 70 to tie Drexel's Kyle Davis for second place after one round of play at the Philadelphia Big 5 Invitational Saturday at the Philadelphia Cricket Club. The defending champion Owls were tied with Drexel for eighth place in the 17-team field with a score of 304. Richmond led the field with a 293 while Campbell University's Zak Drescher shot a four-under 67 to hold the individual lead among the 90 golfers.
Plisko, who has led the Owls the entire 2000-10 campaign, was followed by junior Andrew Mason shot a five-over 76 to tie for 29th. Junior Joseph Kim tied for 44th with a 78 while redshirt freshman Devin Bibeau (80) and junior Mark Edmondson (81) placed 63rd and 69th, respectively.
Richmond, who had two golfers - Michael Shrader and Daniel Walker - tie for fifth with a score of 72, was followed by Yale (297), Campbell (297), Cornell (298), West Florida (299), Harvard (301), Princeton (303), Temple, Drexel, Binghamton (306), Navy (308), St. John's (308), Boston College (309), Penn (309), Villanova (311), Saint Joseph's (319) and La Salle (354).
Play will resume tomorrow at 7:30 a.m.
