Softball Concludes Fall Schedule Winning Pool A Championship At Pride Showcase

Newark, NJ – The Temple softball team finished their Fall season with a Pool A Championship at the Pride College Showcase in Newark, NJ. The Owls took down Siena (5-2) and Lafayette (9-4) to take the title in their final tournament of the season.
In the first game against Siena, newcomer Kristen Marris threw seven innings, not allowing an earned run while striking out 10 batters. Freshman Ali Robinson went 3-3 at the dish, while senior Krystle Metzler was 2-2.
Metzler, along with sopohmores Meghan Weingard and Alyse Pujol, each went 2-3 driving in two runs a piece. Junior Amanda Branco was awarded the win, relieving starter Crystal Nyman who left the game with an injury. Branco threw one inning, walking three. Marris entered in the seventh with bases loaded, striking out the next two batters she faced to earn the save.
Overall, the Cherry and White concluded the fall season 5-3.
