Volleyball Senior Day Set for Saturday; Owls Will "Dig Pink" vs. Saint Louis

Temple will charge $2.00 admission to benefit the Side-Out Foundation
PHILADELPHIA - Two outstanding seniors will be honored as the Temple volleyball team plays its final home match on Saturday, Nov. 14 against Saint Louis at 7:00 p.m. The team has dedicated the match to the "Dig Pink" fundraising effort, which is sponsored by the Side-Out Foundation.
There will be a $2.00 admission charge - cash sales only. Admission will be free for students, faculty and administration with a Temple ID.
Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to The Side-out Foundation, which supports health care professionals in their pursuit of practical solutions in the fight against breast cancer.
The first 100 fans will receive a pink pom pom, the Diamond Gems will perform at halftime, there will be promotions with prizes as well as a bake sale with proceeds going to the foundation.
Seniors Yun Yi Zhang and Jackie Morrison will be honored prior to the start of the match. Zhang is currently second in the nation in kills per set and was an AVCA all-region honorable mention selection last year. Morrison is the team's captain and starting setter, outstanding both on and off the court as she was recently recognized as an ESPN the Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree.
Temple will face a tough test against the Saint Louis Billikens, currently ranked 20th in the nation with a record of 19-6. The Owls took a set against Saint Louis on the road earlier this season. Temple has already secured a spot in the upcoming Atlantic 10 Tournament, which will be held at Dayton from Nov. 20-22. The seedings are not yet determined, and Temple could still place anywhere from third through sixth. The Owls will play at Charlotte on Friday before returning home for their final match.
