Women's Crew Turns In Solid Performance At Frostbite Regatta

CAMDEN, NJ - The top two Temple women’s crew boats placed second at the Frostbite Regatta which was held for the first time on the Cooper River in Camden, NJ Saturday. The Owls Varsity and JV eights took runner-up honors while the Novice 8 B boat won its race.

"It was a good showing today,"Temple coach Tim Hagan said. "I was very pleased with our performance. Both the V8 and JV8 had very strong rows and hung close to the leaders but just couldn't find a way to get through them at the end of the races."

The Varsity 8, comprised of Erin Buchanan (coxswain), Paige O’ Sullivan (stroke), Taylor Wasserleben (7-seat), Bailey Chick (6-seat), Mary Webster (5-seat), Kara Jackson (4-seat), Jeanine Lees (3-seat), Brynn Moore (2-seat), and Nicole Wagner (bow), placed nine seconds behind Drexel in a time of 7:24.55. Lafayette was a distant third (7:46.58) followed by Philadelphia U. (8:03.18).

The JV 8, comprised of Isabella Bourbon (coxswain), Allison Boc (stroke), Megan Hanlin (7-seat), Kendra Dickenson (6-seat), Megan Silk (5-seat), Joanna Sutor (4-seat), Molly Schrenier (3-seat), Caitlin Pennington (2-seat), and Angela Flinn (bow), finished within five seconds of first place George Mason in a time of 7:35.26. Drexel B (7:40.31) and St. Mary's (8:51.50) placed third and fourth, respectively.

The Varsity 4, comprised of Ryan Ellenbaum (stroke), Alexandria Slater-Williams (3-seat), Dana Meadows (2-seat), Claudia Loeber (bow) and Alexis Coomey (coxswain), placed fifth in a time of 8:42.77.

The Owls take to the Schuylkill River Sunday at the Braxton Regatta.
