KINGSTON, R.I.
– Senior Josue Louis captured the title in the high jump, and classmate Alex Schiavi placed second in the heptathlon to highlight the final day of the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships. Temple placed a program-best third overall, finishing behind reigning three-time champion Charlotte and Rhode Island.

Temple head coach Eric Mobley was honored as Men's Coach of the Year, while senior Tim Boeni earned Men's Most Outstanding Field Performer of the Year.

Louis cleared a height of 6-10.25 for a first place finish in the high jump, the Owls' lone first place finish on the day. Louis also finished fourth in the 55m hurdles, running a time of 7.75. He joins classmates Bryce Buffaloe and Tim Boeni on the All-Conference first team, each winning individual titles.

Schiavi scored 4770 points in the heptathlon, placing second in the 1000m run (2:43.32), eighth in the pole vault (10-08.00), and fifth in the 55m hurdles (8.35) in today's action.

In the shot put, Buffaloe placed fifth with a toss of 48-10.75. Also in the field today, freshman Dylan Pensyl finished fifth leaping 44-08.75.

The Owls' relays finished in the middle of the pack, with the 4x400m (Derrhyl Duncan, Tariq Lee, Brad McFadden, and Louis) placing fourth in a time of 3:23.13. The 4x800m team (Lou Parisi, Zach Coulson, Geoffrey Barletta, Aaron Taylor) took a fifth place finish in a time of 7:52.93.

Taylor took fourth in the 800m, running a time of 1:54.87. Parisi ran a time of 1:05.50 in the 500m run final, good enough for a fifth place finish.

In the 200m dash final, sophomore Emmanuel Freeland placed fourth crossing the finish line in a time of 22.32. Freeland also ran in the 55m dash finals, clocking in at 6.45 to finish in third place.

Junior Eddie Penetar competed in the one mile run, finishing seventh in a time of 4:25.02.

Up next the Owls' qualifiers will compete in the IC4A Championships, held March 6-7 in Boston, Mass.
