Ocean County College assistant coach joins Temple staff
PHILADELPHIA - Sean Cashman, a former collegiate and professional baseball player and Ocean County College (NJ) assistant baseball coach, has been named an assistant baseball coach at Temple University, announced head coach Rob Valli. Cashman will work with all positions, and serve as bench coach.
“Sean's work ethic and knowledge of the game has allowed his career in collegiate and professional baseball to get off to a fast start,” commented Valli. “We are excited to have him aboard and his efforts are having a positive impact on our team. Coach Cashman will contribute in all facets of our program including bench coach.”
“I'm excited for the opportunity to be a part of this great program and University,” said Cashman. “I'm hoping my experience not only as a player, but behind the scenes in baseball will help round out Coach Valli's staff.”
As a high school athlete, Cashman was selected to the All-County and All Conference teams as a pitcher, helping him earn a scholarship to attend St. Peters College.
After his playing days, he stayed extremely active in the game. He has experience in the front office and as an associate scout in professional baseball. In the summer, Cashman was the General Manager / Head Coach for the Toms River Blacksox of the ABCCL.
Cashman is the owner/operator of a baseball academy in Toms River, NJ. He currently resides in Toms River, where he is also on the board for Toms River East Little League.
