Ryan Brooks Signs Professional Contract with German Club

Owls' leading scorer to play for LTI Giessen

PHILADELPHIA – Ryan Brooks, the co-Most Valuable Player of the 2009-10 Temple University men's team that posted a 29-6 record en route to a third straight Atlantic 10 Conference championship, has signed a contract to play with the LTI Giessen 46ers, a professional team based in Giessen, Germany.

The 6-4 guard led the Owls in scoring in his senior season with a 14.3 average, while also setting career-highs in rebounds (148, 4.2 rpg.) and assists (82, 2.3 apg.). The Narberth, Pa. native (Lower Merion HS) earned first team all-Philadelphia Big 5 honors and second team all-Atlantic 10 Conference honors in his final season.

Brooks ended his career 31st on the Temple all-time scoring list with 1,225 points. As a junior he averaged 10.6 points per game and ranked fourth in the A-10 in three-point accuracy (59-144, .410), earning second team all-Big 5 and A-10 all-Championship accolades.

This summer he was a member of the Philadelphia 76ers' team in the Orlando Summer League. He averaged 4.8 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 20 minutes per game. His best game was in the finale against Utah, when he scored 12 points and had three assists.
