Phil Steele Honors Four Owls with Mid-season All-America Honors

Nine Owls Earn All-MAC Honors
CLEVELAND – Phil Steele has released his mid-season honors, recognizing four Temple football players as All-Americans and nine players as members of his 2011 Mid-Season All-Mid-American Conference teams.
Named to the All-America teams, as well as All-MAC first team, were junior RB Bernard Pierce (Ardmore, Pa.), senior DE Adrian Robinson (Harrisburg, Pa.), senior TE Evan Rodriguez (North Bergen, N.J.), and senior LB Tahir Whitehead (Newark, N.J.).
Pierce earned Third-Team All-America accolades, while Robinson, Rodriguez, and Whitehead were Honorable Mention selections.
Second-team All-MAC accolades went to senior OL John Palumbo (Lyndhurst, N.J.) and junior DB Justin Gildea (Hollidaysburg, Pa.).
Earning third-team All-MAC recognition were senior OL Pat Boyle (Towson, Md.), junior KOR Matt Brown (Baltimore, Md.), and senior S Kevin Kroboth (Nazareth, Pa.).
Temple (5-2, 3-1 MAC) travels to Bowling Green (3-4, 1-2 MAC) on Oct. 22 for a 3:30 p.m. contest at Doyt Perry Stadium. The Buckeye Cable Sports Network will televise the game throughout Ohio. Flagship WPHT (1210 AM) will carry the game on the radio in Philadelphia.
