Canning showed she hadn't lost her luster, as she competed in all-around and ended up finishing as the top competitor in the three-squad meet. The Billerica, Mass. native totaled 38.275 through her events, to finish ahead of Ithaca's Jessica Bolduc (37.800). Senior Corrine Williams also competed all-around for the Owls, in which she placed third with a score of 37.575.
“The performance by our seniors showed how they are leaders by example,” head coach Aaron Murphy said. “With what all of them did today, it proves to all the other schools that these seniors are coming out to get you. I think they set a great example for our underclassmen, especially the freshmen, since it gives them a sense of how to perform in these kind of environments.”
The Owls had a top-finisher in every event on Sunday, including Canning, senior Kaity Watson and Williams.
Canning and Watson snagged the top-two spots, in that order, on the vault with scores of 9.725 and 9.600, respectively.
In that same event Williams and Jasmine Johnson posted solid scores to earn spots inside the top 10, to place back-to-back in fifth and sixth place.

On the balance beam, it was pretty much all Temple, as five of its competitors placed within the top seven in the apparatus event.
Williams topped the event with a first place score of 9.675 on the vault, which was ahead of Canning's second place output of 9.600 and junior Jean Alban's third place finish (9.500).
Sophomores Sylvie Borschel and Brittanie DeMeno placed in the order if sixth and seventh on the beam, to help Temple infiltrate a majority of spots in the event's top 10.

Borschel and Canning had like scores of 9.550 to tie for fourth place in the event.
Senior Alexandra Uscatu was held out of the lineup for the second straight meet due to an injured foot. Uscatu, who performs on
vault, balance beam and floor exercise, will be evaluated on a day-to-day basis.
