Rams teams up with Marquart for doubles win

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Kristian Marquart represented Temple in the main singles draw of the USTA/ITA Atlantic Regional on Friday. He and senior Kacper Rams also teamed up for doubles action, as well as the duo of Nicolas Paulus and Hernan Vasconez. The event is being held at the University of Virginia on October 18-22.
Marquart dropped his match to James Madison's Hugo Ramadier in the round of 128, falling 7-6, 6-4.
Rams received a bye in the first round of singles play and will face Dan Elston of Longwood, a 6-1, 6-4 winner over Norfolk State's Daniel Grauel, at 10:15 Saturday morning.
The pair teamed up to play in the doubles draw, squaring off against Zvonimir Podvinsky and Dante Terenzio of Old Dominion and defeating the team 8-6. The duo will face Hunter Koontz and Trpimir Kujundzic of Virginia Tech at 5:30 Saturday afternoon.
Also playing doubles were Paulus and Vasconez, who faced James Madison's Ramadier and Florent Sentenac. The Temple team fell 8-6 to the JMU squad.
