PHILADELPHIA -
Temple Women's Gymnastics made history in front of their own fans, friends, family and alums in their only meet of the season in McGonigle Hall on Sunday, as it set its highest team score in school history, earning a score of 193.275 to defeat West Chester (189.775) and Ursinus (182.050) in the annual Ken Anderson Memorial Invitational

The Owls, who took first place in all four events of Sunday's competition, posted the program's highest team score since March 15, 2009 when it post 192.625 in a dual meet at Cornell.

On what was also the senior sendoff meet for three fourth-year competitors Corrine Williams, Kaity Watson, and Alexandra Uscatu all made the most in terms of their performances.

In the day's opening event for the Owls, Watson led the team on the vault with her score of 9.750, which put her in a tie for the top spot overall with West Chester's Stephanie Schuler. Watson had another impressive performance on the uneven parallel bars, as she tied for second place on the team with Natali Ruzich, as the two finished only behind Williams (9.700).

Williams earned the top score on the day in the floor exercise, as she came near perfect with her total of 9.900 in the meet, a score that was just 0.050 from the school record for an indivdual in the event.

Junior Jasmine Johnson also helped the Owls to a 48.925 score in floor exercise, as she placed second overall in the event with her score of 9.875.

Competiting in her final event as well, Uscatu posted a score of 9.625 on the vault, which had her ranked fourth on the team in the event.

Leading the Owls in their first place finish on the beam was junior Jean Alban with her earned total of 9.750 on the apparatus, ranking her second overall.

Taking part in all events, but parallel bars, sophomore Sylvie Borschel was essential in helping the Owls take the top score in every event she competed. Starting off with an impressive third place score of 9.675 on the vault, Borschel took second place on the team and thrid overall on the beam (9.700) before closing out her day in floor exercise, where she earned a strong 9.650 for fifth place.

Fresh off ECAC Gymnast of the Week accolades, graduate student Katie Canning was the only Owl that took part in all-around. Canning placed second among the three all-around competitors on the day with her total score of 38.200, which was 0.025 from the top spot.

After setting a season-high score in the second straight meet, the Owls will now make their way out to Normal, Illinois, where they will take on Illinois State in a dual-meet on Friday at 7:00 p.m.
