Men's Tennis Drops 6-1 Match at Lehigh

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Temple men's tennis team came up against a surging Lehigh squad that had won six-straight coming into the day. The Mountain Hawks kept the momentum going with a 6-1 defeat of the Owls on Sunday morning.
Lehigh took two of three doubles matches and five of six singles bouts.
The doubles point came down to a tiebreak at the first flight. Lehigh took the upper hand with an 8-5 win at number three, before Temple's Kristian Marquart and Sam Rundle picked up an 8-5 decision at the second flight. Kacper Rams and Santiago Canete played to a tiebreaker with Mark Goldberg and Mitchell Petersen, but the Lehigh duo came out on top 9-8(5) to earn the point.
Lehigh quickly wrapped the match up with wins at the first four flights, as well as the sixth. The Owls' point came at the fifth flight, where Nicolas Paulus pulled out a three-set win over Andrew Krentz, 4-6, 7-5, 10-7.
TU falls to 2-6 and will be back in action on Friday, March 9, in a 6 p.m. match against Binghamton at Legacy Youth Tennis and Education Center.
