Lafferty Tabbed Defensive Player of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – For the second time this season, senior Erin Lafferty has been named the American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending October 26.

Lafferty helped the Owls win their first game against SMU ever on Thursday, scoring the game-tying and game-winning goals in the 3-2 game. These goals gave Lafferty a career-high seven goals on the season and 13 for her total career. Lafferty also set a new school record in career games played with 78 on Sunday in the Owls' 2-1 win against Houston.

Also for the Owls, senior Kelly Farrell was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the third time this season. Farrell notched an assist and her fourth game-winning goal of the season in the 86th minute of Sunday's 2-1 season finale win against Houston. She helped lift the Owls to their 12th win in 2015, setting a program record for most wins in a season.
