PHILADELPHIA - Not only did Saturday night's football game between then #21/22 Temple and #9/9 Notre Dame set a Temple attendance record for a home game (69,280), it was also ABC's highest-rated regular season college football game ever in the Philadelphia market.Â
The first-ever match-up between two nationally-ranked FBS teams in Philadelphia earned an 18.1 overnight rating nationally, which translates to approximately 528,000 households. Nationally, the contest garnered a 3.9 overnight rating (approx. 4,419,000 households), which was the highest-rated college football game across all networks for week 9.
Additionally, the 3.9 overnight represents a 26% increase over Saturday Night Football in week 9 of 2014, which featured Ohio State at Penn State.
