Fitzgerald Named Big 5 Player of the Week; American Honor Roll

PHILADELPHIA -- Temple's Feyonda Fitzgerald was named the Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week, also earning a spot on the American Athletic Conference Honor Roll. The junior guard had a career-night, helping the Owls to a 1-0 start to the season.

Fitzgerald scored a career-best 32 points to lead Temple to a 97-91 win over Florida on Saturday. The junior shot 55% (11-20) from the field, while also posting team-highs of five assists and three steals. Fitzgerald was a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line in the victory.

Temple hits the road for three games, beginning with a Big 5 contest on Wednesday at La Salle.
