Women’s Soccer Honored With Three All-Conference Selections

11.2.15 | Women's Soccer

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Temple women's soccer players Kelly Farrell, Erin Lafferty, and Jordan Nash were honored this week by the American Athletic Conference for their individual efforts this season. Farrell and Lafferty were both selected to the All-Conference second team, while Nash was named to the All-Rookie team.

Farrell finds her name on the All-Conference list for the second year in a row. She leads the conference in goals (12) and tied for first in points (27) with UCF's Carol Rodrigues. Farrell also found herself ranked in the Temple history books, as her goal total ranks third for a single season. Farrell was also named American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for week ending September 21 and also received honor roll nods three times this season (September 7, September 14 and October 26).

Lafferty finished the regular season second in goals scored for the Owls with a career-high seven, including three multi-goal games. She also set a program record in most games played in a career with 78 and was 4-for-4 in penalty shots this season. Lafferty received Defensive Player of the Week honors twice this season, for the weeks ending September 14 and October 26.

Nash stepped up to replace senior Shauni Kerkhoff in the goal this season after Kerkhoff was injured during the Owls' game against Penn on September 4. She ended the season with a 0.96 goals against average, which currently ranks second in a season in Temple history. Nash also had an .813 save percentage, three shutouts, and 65 saves. She was named Rookie of the Week for the week ending August 24 and Goalkeeper of the Week ending September 21.

The #6 Owls will face-off against #3 UCF in the quarterfinals of the American Athletic Conference Tournament tomorrow night. The game is set to kickoff at 8:00 p.m. ET/7:00 p.m. CT from Westcott Field in Dallas.
