Lenfest Participation Challenge and the Temple Owl Club

PHILADELPHIA - Temple University is launching the Lenfest Participation Challenge today, on #GivingTuesday to encourage 3,000 Temple Alums to contribute for the first time this fiscal year (July 1, 2015- June 30, 2016) to their alma mater. The various schools and divisions throughout the University are competing to see who can obtain the most support for their area. Temple Athletics and the Owl Club are asking all Temple Alumni to renew their gift or make a new gift to Temple Athletics and become an Owl Club member. Membership starts with a minimum donation of $110 and enhances the Temple student-athlete experience.
Owl Club members Take Charge, and Build Champions by providing financial support to the Temple Athletics department. Last year Owl Club members made history by giving a record-high amount to the Owl Club Annual fund, which helped the Temple Athletics Department expand the Resnick Academic Center, renovate the Olympic sport team locker rooms and weight room, and create an urge room for the Women's Rowing and Men's Crew teams.
The Lenfest Participation Challenge will run from today to December 31, 2015 and the top two divisions will receive $25,000, a generous gift made by Temple Trustee, H.F. "Gerry" Lenfest. In addition, each unit will receive a percentage of a larger gift ($150,000) made by Lenfest dependent on the percentage of the 3,000 donors the division or school has.
