PHILADELPHIA – Temple senior LB Tyler Matakevich was named to the Consensus All-America Team it was announced today by the NCAA.
The Stratford, Conn., native was named on each of the five organizations used in the consensus, including first-team recognition from American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), Associated Press (AP), Football Writers Association of America (FWAA), and Walter Camp Football Foundation (WCFF).
The following players were listed on the most first team All-America teams co mpeting against players at that position only. To be selected a player must be named first team on at least two of the five selected All-America teams. Second and third teams were used to break ties. Twelve players were unanimous choices by the five ^organizations used in the consensus chart — AFCA, AP, FWAA, The Sporting News and WCFF.
