12.8.15 | Women's Soccer
PHILADELPHIA – After a successful season, Temple women's soccer seniors Kelly Farrell and Erin Lafferty were named second team All-Northeast Region, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced.
"I am so pleased that Erin and Kelly are being recognized for their performances this year," said head coach Seamus O'Connor. "Our program had such a successful year and it is great when you see players getting rewarded for their contributions to that success."
The two seniors helped to lead the Owls to a 12-7-1 record, posting the most wins in program history and were apart of the only team to ever post back-to-back seasons of double-digit wins (in 2014, the team went 11-8-1).
Farrell led the team in goals with 13, which tied a Temple record for most in a season, and finished the season ranked second in The American. She also led the team in game-winning goals with four. Lafferty finished her career as an Owl as the program leader in games played with 79. She was second on the team in goals with seven, going a perfect 4-4 on penalty kicks and two game-winning goals, including a PK that helped to lift Temple over conference foes SMU for the first time in five tries.
