Nagurski Award Presentation to Air Friday Night on CBS Sports Network

PHILADELPHIAÂ - Senior linebacker Tyler Matakevich won the Bronko Nagurski Award from the Charlotte Touchdown Club this Monday and fans can re-live the moment later this week. CBS Sports Network, with Adam Zucker hosting, will air the trophy presentation this Friday, December 11th, at 9:00 p.m.Â
Matakevich will be on ESPN Thursday night at the Home Depot College Football Awards, where he's a finalist for the Bednarik Award. The Lott IMPACT Trophy, for which Matakevich is also a finalist, airs Saturday night from Los Angeles on Fox Sports 1.
Matakevich finished the regular season with 126 tackles, 15 for loss, with a career-high 4.5 sacks. His five interceptions led all FBS linebackers. He also took Defensive Player of the Year honors from the American Athletic Conference. He became just the seventh defender in FBS history to collect 100 tackles in his four collegiate seasons.
Matakevich will conclude his historic career as an Owl in the Marmot Boca Raton Bowl on Tuesday, December 22nd, as the Owls face former MAC rival Toledo. Kickoff is 7:00 p.m. and the game will air on ESPN. For tickets and package information, go to owlstix.com.
