PHILADELPHIA – Coming off a back-to-back shutout weekend, the Temple women's soccer team will take the field on Friday, August 28 to face the Loyola Maryland Greyhounds.

The Owls are 2-0 after a weekend of shutouts. In the season opener against Fairleigh Dickinson, Temple registered a 3-0 win. Two days later, the Owls continued the pace and routed visiting Delaware State, 5-0. Because of their performances, the Owls were ranked 10th in the first National Soccer Coaches Association of America Northeast Regional poll released on August 25.

Defender Paula Jurewicz scored the game-winning goal in both games. Jurewicz started in 13 games in 2014, but was injured in a game against Memphis on October 2014.?For her efforts this past weekend, Jurewicz was named OwlSports.com Athlete of the Week presented by UnderArmour and also named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll. Jurewicz and senior Kelly Farrell both lead the team with two goals each.

Goalkeeper Jordan Nash was named American Athletic Conference Rookie of the?Week, after her 90th minute heroics during the Fairleigh Dickinson game. The Brick, N.J., native blocked a penalty kick and a rebounded shot in the last seconds of the game to preserve the shutout.
