9.14.15 | Football, Jahad Thomas - All-American Candidate
PHILADELPHIA – Temple junior running back Jahad Thomas was named to the Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll for week 2. He was one of four names on this list this week, following a career-high 193 rushing yards and 342 all-purpose yards, setting a new American Athletic Conference record. He scored two touchdowns, one on a 56-yard burst through the Cincinnati defense, the other on a 100-yard return of the second half kickoff, as the Owls defeated the Bearcats 34-26 in the conference opener.
The Paul Hornung Award, presented by Texas Roadhouse, is awarded annually to the most versatile player in major college football. Thomas was named to the award's preseason watch list. He currently leads the nation in all-purpose yards with 513 through two games.
Thomas will look to continue his prolific output as Temple travels to Gillette Stadium this weekend to face UMass. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
