PHILADELPHIA - Temple University men's golf opens its 2015 fall season at the Hartford Hawk Invitational on Monday. Â The Owls finished fourth at the event last year.Â
Senior Brandon Matthews, who has competed in the NCAAs the last two years, leads the Owls. Â The Dupont, Pa. native earned All-America honors last year and has eight career wins, tying Temple's all-time record.
Besides Matthews, who recorded a school record 70.9 strokes per round average, sophomores Mark Farley (77.8 spr.) and Evan Notaro (77.9 spr.) are the team's top two returnees.
Junior Evan Notaro (79.0 spr.) competed in 14 of the team's 33 rounds.
Quinn has brought in five freshmen to bolster the ranks with Trey Wren (Suffolk, Va.) and Gary McCabe (Collegeville, Pa.) expected to make an immediate impact.
