Men’s Tennis Brings Home Two Titles at Joe Hunt Invitational

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Two Temple men's tennis players claimed the championship flights at the final day of the Joe Hunt Invitational, hosted by Navy.
"It was a great weekend for the guys. They all competed at the highest level. I'm really happy with their efforts," said head coach Steve Mauro. "It was just a great tournament overall and we are already looking forward to our next event."
Artem Kapshuk, a freshman from Kiev, Ukraine, defeated Georiga Tech's Micahel Chen, 6-3, 6-4 in the B Singles championship flight to go undefeated at the tournament.
Seniors Ian Glessing and Maros Januvka faced off against each other in E Singles championship flight, with Glessing taking the win, 6-1, 6-4.
Freshman Uladzimir Dorash battled with George Mason's Tanner Baine for the C Singles 5th place match, but ultimately dropped the set, 6-0, 2-6, 10-4.
Seniors Hicham Belkssir, Santiago Canete and Nicolas Paulus, and junior Vineet Naran all won their respective sets today.
In A Doubles flights, Kapshuk and Dorash picked up a victory over Mary Washington's Stratton Gilmore and Nolan Perugini, 6-4.
The men's team will next travel to Tulsa, Okla. to compete in the ITA All-American tournament starting on October 3.
