Novice Eight Medal Highlights Women's Rowing at HOSR

"I thought it was a solid day all around," noted head coach Rebecca Grzybowski. "Every boat class was competitive which is always good to see in the fall and a medal in the frosh/novice 8 is always great."
Temple's novice eight finished third overall to earn a bronze medal in a field of 41 boats. The Owls finished in 16:51.966, while the novice "B" boat also had a great race, finishing 12th in 18:14.451.
Elsewhere, Temple piled up five top-10 performances on the day. The varsity eight boat took seventh in their championship eights field, racing to a time of 15:51.746.
The Owls' varsity four boats had two strong showings in the deepest field of the day -- 58 competitors. The Temple "A" boat took sixth in 17:20.430 and the "B" boat was 11th in 17:38.459. Temple's second varsity eight boat also faired well in the club eight event, as the Owls took 12th out of 56. That crew clocked in at 16:26.538.
Wrapping up today's results, the novice fours has a pair of top-six finishes in a field of 25 boats. Temple's "B" designated boat finished fifth overall in 18:22.364, while the "A" boat was sixth in 18:25.729.
"I was pleased with the level of team-wide accountability as well as the individual commitment to executing technical changes on race day," continued Grzybowski. "We have some good momentum that we will use to finish out the fall before we head indoors."
