Cagle Posts Career-High Game and Two Shutouts to Earn Two Weekly Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced its weekly award winners, naming Temple goalkeeper Alex Cagle the Goalkeeper of the Week. The Philadelphia Soccer Six has also recognized Cagle as the Defender of the Week.

Through 200 minutes of play across two games last week, Cagle was able to rack up 13 saves without conceding a goal. He also posted a career-high nine saves in the Owls' 1-0 victory against Penn State. The win also marked the first win for the Owls' at State College since 1989.

Overall this season, Cagle has tallied 28 saves for a saves percentage of 0.800 that includes five shutouts. In conference play, Cagle's save percentage sits at .889 and ranks second behind UConn's Scott Levene.
In the national standings, Cagle's 0.692 goals against average sits 29th in a pool of 150 ranked goalkeepers.
