Men's Crew Earns Three Medals this Weekend

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple men's crew team competed in a pair of events this weekend, participating in the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta on Saturday, and the Princeton Three-Mile Chase on Sunday.Â
At the Head of the Schuylkill, the Owls earned three medals, as the lightweight eight and freshman four took silver medals and the freshman eight nabbed bronze.
The novice four boat raced in a field of 24 boats with their time of 15:48.523 earning them a silver, behind only Union College's 15:41.416. In freshman eight racing, the 36-boat field saw the Owls take third (14:05.496) and eighth (15:05.805).Â
In varsity racing, the Owls' took 11th out of a deep 48-boat field finishing in 14:21.758. The lightweight eight took second in their event, clocking in at 14:23.936.Â
On Sunday, three boats competed in the Princeton event. Temple's varsity eight took 29th in 13:50.101, while the fours finished 24th (16:28.616) and 25th (16:37.974).
