Volleyball Inks a Pair of Talented Recruits

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple volleyball team inked a pair of talented recruits for the 2017 season. The Owls will welcome Baleigh Jean-Phillipe and Katerina Papazoglou to the team next year.

Jean-Philippe is a 6-1 middle hitter from Germantown, Maryland. A three-letter winner, she was named the MVP and team captain her junior year for Seneca Valley High School. Jean-Philippe was a starting middle hitter for three years and was part of the Magruder High School Invitational All-Tournament Team. In addition to playing for high school team she also played for 2014 Chesapeake Region Volleyball Association High Performance Youth Team and SVHS Regional 16 Open Championship team. She was named 2015 Capital Hill Classic 16 Open Best Blocker and appeared on the Phenom List. Jean-Philippe was member of the National Art History Society all four years of high school and served as president for her junior and senior year. She plans to major in English with a concentration in creative writing or to study art history.

Papazoglou is a 6-1 outside hitter from Greece. She played on the varsity team for Hellenic College her entire high school career. She also assisted in helping the team move their ranking from A3 to A1 division and win the PanHellenic Championships for four consecutive years. During her academic career she received academic honors for three years and was a member of the beach volleyball team. Papazoglou plans to major in architectural studies.  

Temple volleyball continues its 2016 season tonight against Cincinnati at 7:00 p.m. at McGonigle Hall.
