Football Tabs Feeley for Head Strength & Conditioning Coach
12.29.16 | Football
PHILADELPHIA - Geoff Collins continues to add coaches to his 2017 football staff, as he appointed David Feeley to become the new head strength and conditioning coach for the Owls.
Feeley, who will enter his 12th season working in collegiate football, comes to Temple from the University of South Carolina where he was the assistant strength and conditioning coach for one season. He helped guide the 2016 Gamecocks to a 6-6 record and reach the Birmingham Bowl, while mentoring senior DL Darius English to reach SEC second-team All-Conference honors.
Collins first linked up with Feeley when they were both on FIU coaching staff in 2010. During that season, Collins served as the team's defensive coordinator while Feeley was the assistant strength and conditioning coach (2008-10). The two helped guide the Panthers to a 7-6 record during the 2010 season, and a win in the Little Caesar's Pizza Bowl, which was the first bowl win in program history.
A South Jersey native, Feeley grew up in Brick, N.J. He is a 2004 graduate of Plymouth State University, where he was a member of the football team for four years, including serving as the team captain during his senior season.
Feeley is the fourth hire to Collins' new coaching staff, as Owls' coaches Ed Foley, Frisman Jackson and Chris Wiesehan were retained for the 2017 season.Â
