Jokinen Named to Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team

PHILADELPHIA – Junior forward Joonas Jokinen has been selected to the 2016 Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Men's Soccer Team. The team honors 11 student-athletes from the Philadelphia metropolitan area who are voted on by the sports information offices of the 30 included institutions.
Jokinen is the first honoree from Temple men's soccer since Jared Martinelli was placed on the team following the 2014 season. Currently, Jokinen boasts a 3.9 cumulative GPA as a sports and recreation management major.
In 2016, Jokinen ranked second on the team in total points (12) and first in assists (6). For his efforts he was named Second-Team All-American Athletic Conference for the first time in his career.
