PHILADELPHIA – With the regular indoor season wrapped up, Temple women's track and field is set for a trip to the American Athletic Conference Indoor Championships. The two-day meet kicks off on Sunday, Feb. 28. The Owls will be featured in 13 different events at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Ala.

Closing the regular season at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational at Boston University, the Owls collected 14 personal records. Both Sylvia Wilson and Bionca St. Fleur bested their own school records in the 60-meter hurdles and 200-meter races, respectively. Wilson, who now holds two school records, looks to make a stance in her first American Athletic Conference Championship appearance.

Classmate Crystal Jones has also made a strong showing in her debut season, posting a season-best mark of 1.73 meters in the high jump. Jones will also be competing in the women's pentathlon for the first time this season. The first of five events will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday.

Entering this weekend's competition as the reigning indoor champion in both the mile and 3,000-meter races, Blanca Fernandez will compete in the 3,000-meter race and distance medley relay. Last weekend, Fernandez posted a time of 9:38.82 in the 3,000-meter event to place 38th overall.

Kenya Gaston will join Alliya Sharp in the 400-meter race where the pair have both posted ECAC qualifying times below 56.8 seconds. Gaston currently holds a personal-best time of 54.58 seconds.

In the long jump, Jimmia McCluskey is coming off a personal-best performance at Boston University in the event. Her 5.86-meter mark inched closer to the Owls' school record which currently stands at 5.95 meters.

The Owls' second day of competition will include the high and triple jumps, the 3000-meter race, and the 4x400-meter relay.

This season, the 4x400-meter relay has posted a top time of 3:47.54.
