James and Javi Yuan: Temple's First Mandarin Broadcasters

2.9.16 | Men's Basketball

As the Temple men's basketball team faced USF on January 31, another battle raged in Morgan Hall on Main Campus: the battle of the broadcasters. Five Mandarin-speaking students competed to become the first-ever Mandarin broadcasters for Temple men's basketball. Two winners - James and Javi Yuan - were chosen to have broadcasts livestreamed for Mandarin-speaking Owls fans on owlsports.com. The pair made their on-air debut in spectacular fashion, appearing on ESPN during Temple's overtime win over Tulsa on February 4. Click here to watch video.
