Five Fencers Earn All-NIWFA Recognition

PHILADELPHIA - Following the 10th-ranked Temple fencing team's 20th straight National Intercollegiate Women's Fencing Association (NIWFA) Championship last weekend, five Owls have earned All-NIWFA recognition.
Freshman Fiona Fong was named to the All-NIWFA First Team in epee after placing third at the meet on Feb. 27. Earning All-NIWFA Second Team honors were senior Fatima Largaespada in foil and junior Alexandra Keft as well as freshman Quinn Duwelius in epee. Largaespada placed fourth at the meet for the foil squad, while Keft and Duwelius finished fourth and sixth in epee, respectively.
Senior Petra Khan, a public relations major, was named to the 2016 NIWFA All-Academic Team.
The Owls have just over a week before competing at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regional on Saturday, March 12.
