Track & Field Earns 15 Top-10 Finishes at Morgan State Legacy Meet

BALTIMORE, MD. – Temple track & field completed its afternoon at the Morgan State Legacy Meet with 15 top-10 finishes including three finishes in the top three.
Continuing to make improvements every weekend, distance runners Katie Pinson and Katie Leisher placed second and third, respectively, in the 1500-meter race. Pinson posted a time of 4:41.02 with Leisher close behind with a personal-best time of 4:45.28.
Also logging a personal-best weekend were Simone Brownlee, Sylvia Wilson and Crystal Jones. All three Owls ran in the event finals of the 100-meter hurdles. Wilson earned the highest finish with a third-place time of 13.68 to log a personal-best mark. Brownlee earned the seventh overall spot witha time of 14.27. Jones notched a mark of 14.58 to place ninth.
Adding more success in hurdling events, Imani Shell and Brownlee each collected new personal bests in the 400-meter hurdles. Shell posted a 1:06.41 to place 15th overall and Brownlee finshed with a time of 1:09.24.
Junior duo Bionca St. Fleur and Jimmia McCluskey both earned finishes in the top five in the long jump. McCluskey landed in fourth with a jump of 5.64 meters and St. Fleur fell in fifth with a 5.63-meter mark.
Both Temple relay teams earned top-five finishes with the 4x100-meter team earning an ECAC qualifying time with a 47.63-second mark. Kenya Gaston, McCluskey, Shell, and St. Fleur ran the relay to come in fifth overall.
In the 4x400-meter relay, Aliya Sharp, Gaston, Maya Halprin-Adams, and Shell ran a 3:52.01 relay to place fourth.
The Owls return to Philadelphia to prepare for the annual Penn Relays. The three-day competition will begin on April 28 and conclude on April 30.
