Paula Jurewicz Returns to Temple Women's Soccer in Assistant Coach Role
7.14.16 | Women's Soccer
PHILADELPHIA -- Former Temple women's soccer standout Paula Jurewicz will join the Owls staff as an assistant coach, announced head coach Seamus O'Connor. Â
"I am very excited to welcome Paula Jurewicz, a former Owl who represented this University with such pride on the soccer field, to our coaching staf," said O'Connor.Â
"During her playing career, Paula was selected twice by her teammates and coaches as the MVP, so she knows exactly what the expectations are as a player with this program. I know she will help ensure that the next generation of players follow in the proud traditions that our former players have established here at Temple."
Jurewicz was an accomplished player for Temple, starting a total of 69 games for the Owls during her four-year career. The defender only missed seven games on the Temple back line, all coming during her junior year due to injury. In four years, Jurewicz totaled 15 points, with all five of her career goals going for game-winners.
"I'm excited to start my career in something I am so passionate about," said Jurewicz. "This is an opportunity of a lifetime and I am thankful for Seamus believing in me and my abilities. I'm eager to learn even more from him, as well as John, who brings a ton of experience. Temple has given me so much as a player and I look forward to being able to continue to represent such a fantastic University."
Jurewicz was not only known for her excellence on the field but off of it as well. During the 2015 she received American Athletic Conference All-Academic honors, as well as a spot on Temple's Director's Honor Roll for having a GPA of over 3.0.Â
