Women’s Soccer Travels to Big 5 Rival La Salle

PHILADELPHIA – This Sunday the Temple women's soccer team (1-1) is set to take on Big 5 rival, La Salle (1-2), at McCarty Stadium. The match will kick off at 1:00 p.m. The Owls were last in action against Delaware State on August 21, where they picked up a 5-0 victory.
Against Delaware State, four different Owls scored, including two from junior Gabriella McKeown. Of the other scorers, freshmen Morgan Morocco and Fran Davis scored their first career goals.
Coming into the game against the Explorers, Temple has two players tied for the team lead with two goals - McKeown and sophomore Sarah McGlinn. McKeown also leads the team with five points.
At the goalkeeper position, sophomore Jordan Nash is starting her first full season in net. Nash came in last season and started 15 games after Shauni Kerkoff suffered a season ending injury. On the year Nash has 13 saves with two goals against and one shutout.
Temple will continue to look for a lot of contributions from their 13 newcomers. Of the 13, 11 are freshmen and two are transfers.

Temple and city foe, LaSalle have faced off 21 times, with the Explorers leading the series 9-10-2. The teams met last year as the Owls won 3-0.

The Owls will stay on the road as they travel to Rider University. The Owls take on the Broncs on Thursday September 1 at 6:00 p.m. in Lawrenceville, N.J.
