8.5.16 | General

PHILADELPHIA - Three staff members have joined Temple Athletics in full-time roles recently, with Katie Colbridge, Samantha Diamond and Brian Harrell all taking positions in different areas of the department.

Colbridge, who has interned in different areas at Temple over the last two years, is now the Administrative Specialist for men's and women's basketball. Diamond has also served in various roles for Temple Athletics over the last few years, and is now full-time as the Coordinator of Football Staff Scheduling and Special Events/External Camp Liaison. Harrell joins the staff as the Coordinator of Olympic Sport Recruiting, which is a new position in the department.

Colbridge is already a familiar face on North Broad Street. She worked in the recruiting department for the football team in 2013, and since August of 2014, she has served as an intern on the administrative side, on the marketing side and with media/communications. During the fall of 2015, Colbridge was a programming intern with CBS Sports. She's a 2016 graduate of Temple with degrees in both media studies and production as well as sport and recreation management.

Past roles for Colbridge include intern stints with Galaxy 51 Studio (The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia), the Philadelphia Soul and The Hamels Foundation.

Diamond is a 2011 Temple graduate with a degree in psychology, and later earned a master's degree in exercise science and sport psychology from Ithaca College (2014) and a master's degree in education from Temple in 2016. She first worked with the Owls' volleyball team as a sports psychologist before transitioning over to football. For the past year, Diamond served as the coordinator of football administration, responsible for managing the team's recruiting database.

In her new role, Diamond will assist in all matters related to scheduling and special events for the head football coach and staff. Her main responsibilities will include coordination, securing availability, execution and scheduling of the various obligations required by the coaching staff as it pertains to interactions with Alumni Relations, the Office of the President, Board of Trustees, Advancement/Owl Club, various colleges on campus and Athletic Administration.

Prior to working with Temple volleyball, Diamond spent six months as a mental conditioning coach at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., serving over 1,000 student-athletes and campers.

Harrell will assist in all matters related to recruiting for the Olympic Sport programs at Temple, and will report to Assistant AD/Compliance & Student-Athlete Affairs Quinton Smith. Harrell's role will include coordinating the daily recruiting operational and logistical processes, planning and supervising the execution of the 12-month vision of recruiting calendar (mail, video, graphics, social media) and maintaining recruiting databases.

Harrell comes to Temple from Tallahassee, Fla., where he earned a bachelor's degree in social science from Florida State University in 2016. His past experience includes a year spent as a merchandiser for Tri-Eagle Sales in Tallahassee, and he was a member of the U.S. Army National Guard in Indiana from 2006-10.
