National Scoring Leader Gomez Sanchez Earns Two Player of the Week Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – After tallying 11 points across two games including a seven-point outing and hat trick against Fairfield, Jorge Gomez Sanchez has been selected as the American Athletic Conference and Philadelphia Soccer Six Player of the Week.
The senior forward also currently stands as the national leader in goals per game with 1.29. In total goals and points, as well as points per game, he sits second behind Russell Cicerone of the University of Buffalo. Gomez Sanchez also ranks third in shots per game with 5.00.
In the Owls' 3-2 overtime loss against Drexel of Sept. 13, Gomez Sanchez was able to log both Temple goals and post a total of five shots.
Gomez Sanchez returned to the Temple Sports Complex on Saturday against Fairfield in dynamic fashion, contributing to all four of the Owls' scoring plays and tallying a career-high seven total points. Three of those four goals he scored himself.
This week's honor is the second Offensive Player of the Week title earned by Gomez Sanchez.
