PHILADELPHIA – Following a season that started as a walk-on and ended in all-conference honors, Temple University has extended a scholarship to kicker Aaron Boumerhi.

Boumerhi came to Temple in the summer of 2016 and earned a spot on the roster behind junior kicker Austin Jones. Jones played in eight games and had a school record streak of 19 consecutive field goals made. In the same game his streak ended, he injured his ACL sidelining him for the remainder of the season.

Boumerhi stepped right in and was 15-of-17 for field goals and 29-of-30 on extra points finishing the season with 74 points. In his first full game, at UCF, he made two field goals including one from 48-yards, as the Owls mounted a stunning comeback for a one-point win, 26-25.

The Philipsburg, Pa., native and Philipsburg-Osceola High product earned second team All-American Athletic Conference honors and set the school mark with four successful field goals in a bowl game.

OwlsTV's Morgyn Seigfried caught up with Boumerhi. Watch the video here.
