Field Hockey Edged 1-0 in Overtime at Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - After 75 minutes of scoreless field hockey, Fairfield (6-10) finally got one to go on a rebounded shot and save to hand Temple a 1-0 road loss on Sunday afternoon. The Owls (4-12) will return home next weekend for their final two games of the season.
Keys to the Game
> Both teams finished with four penalty corners in the contest. The Owls had none in the first half, but earned a 4-1 edge in corner chances in the second half.
> Sophomore goalkeeper Maddie Lilliock fought off eight shots on goal before allowing the lone goal of the contest early in the sixth minute of overtime.
> Lilliock made her eighth save in OT, but the Stags' Jaclyn Gallagher collected the rebound and dribbled around Lilliock for the goal.
> In a stronger second half, the Owls' Kathryn Edgar took a pair of shots on goal, but Fairfield's Caitlin Gilligan saved both.

> Lilliock totaled 19 saves for the weekend, making eight today after recording 11 saves on Friday at Quinnipiac.
> The Owls had previously gone 2-0 in overtime games this season, both at home.
