Rapacz Earns Defensive POTW Honors; Westfield on Honor Roll

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple volleyball team came home with a pair of American Athletic Conference Weekly honors on Monday. Senior Izzy Rapacz was named the Defensive Player of the Week, while redshirt freshman Dana Westfield earned a spot on the honor roll.

ALL-AROUND RAPACZ
> Rapacz led the Owls to a pair of 3-2 conference road victories, nearly averaging a triple-double with 13.0 kills, 20.5 digs, and 7.5 blocks per match.
> The right side hitter, known for her offense all season, was Temple's top defensive performer last week, leading the team in digs and blocks per set.
> Opening the week at SMU, Rapacz racked up 14 kills, 20 digs, and eight blocks.
> At Tulsa, she finished with 12 kills, 21 digs, and seven blocks.
> Rapacz set a new career high with her 20 digs at SMU and then bested it with 21 digs at Tulsa.
> For the week, she averaged 2.60 kills, 4.10 digs, and 1.50 assists per set, while also adding three aces.

WESTFIELD ON THE ATTACK
> Westfield was Temple's top offensive performer in a pair of victories, both 3-2 thrillers on the road.
> The outside hitter averaged 15.0 kills and 3.0 blocks per match.
> Against SMU, Westfield finished with 15 kills and just three errors, adding three digs and a pair of blocks.
> At Tulsa she again tallied a team-best 15 kills, adding five digs and four blocks.
> Both of Temple's 3-2 nailbiters ended with back-to-back blocks with Westfield in on the set and match winner in both victories.
> For the week, she averaged 3.00 kills per set.
