PHILADELPHIA – Temple University Director of Athletics Dr. Patrick Kraft announced today that the contract of men's soccer coach David MacWilliams will not be renewed.  MacWilliams guided the Owls to 140-164-34 overall record in his 18-year tenure at the school.

"On behalf of all of us in the Temple Family, I want to thank Dave for his service and commitment to our University and to the hundreds of young men who came through his program," said Kraft.  "We have high expectations at Temple and I believe we need a fresh voice leading us forward.  We wish Dave and Beth and their children all of the best in the future."

MacWilliams guided the 2017 Owls to a 9-8-1 overall mark, 4-3-1 in American Athletic Conference play.  Temple placed fourth in the conference during the regular season, falling to top-seeded and #11 SMU, 4-0, on Nov. 7 in Dallas in the conference tournament.

A national search will commence to find the next coach.
