Eubanks Named ECAC Coaches Choice Gymnast of the Week

DANBURY, Conn. – In this week's installation of the ECAC Division I Women's Gymnastics weekly awards, Temple freshman Yasmin Eubanks has been selected as the Coaches Choice Gymnast of the Week. The honor is the first career weekly award for Eubanks and comes after an inspiring performance at last Friday's Pink Invitational.
Working in the anchor position on vault, Eubanks took a tough fall when she landed with both knees hyperextended and closed the vault rotation with a 9.225. As the Owls moved to bars, Eubanks was able to push through and complete her bar set to earn a 9.7. The mark ranked third for the Owls and stands as Eubanks' second-highest bar score of the season.
Overall, Eubanks currently holds a 9.685 RQS on vault and ranks in a tie for eighth within the conference. Her bar RQS stands at 9.630 and ranks 16th among all ECAC bar workers.
The Owls return to competition on Wednesday night in College Park, Md. The Terrapins will play host to Temple along with New Hampshire, West Chester and William & Mary for a 7 p.m. start.
