Lacrosse's Morgan Glassford Named BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week

NEW YORK - After a 2-0 week for Temple lacrosse, senior Morgan Glassford has been named the BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week. The Owls have now earned major weekly awards in two of the three weeks of the 2017 season so far, with Brenda McDermott previously earning BIG EAST Attacker of the Week honors on Feb. 14.

Glassford stuffed the stat sheet this past week with six goals, one assist, six ground balls, nine draw controls and two caused turnovers in victories at Saint Joseph's and versus Lafayette. The senior notched a hat trick in both games and added an assist in the St. Joe's win. Glassford led all players with six draw controls in the Owls' 18-12 win against the Leopards.

With 128 career draw controls, Glassford already ranks fourth all-time at Temple, needing just six more to tie for third and 28 to tie for first. Her 5.40 draw controls this season currently rank 21st among all players in NCAA Division I.

BIG EAST Attacker Of The Week
Mollie Stevens, Florida, Sr., A
In two games this week, Stevens had eight goals on nine shots, including a perfect five-for-five performance in Friday's 15-10 win over No. 3 USC. She also totaled one assist, three ground balls, four caused turnovers and 15 draw controls. Her 11 draw controls in Monday's 21-14 win over Jacksonville on were a Gator single-game record.

Haley Hicklen, Florida, So., GK
Hicklen logged 108:07 in the cage in Florida's two games last week. Against then-No. 3/3 USC on Friday, Hicklen set a career high with 13 saves and a .565 save percentage as the Gators pulled off the upset of the higher-ranked Trojans, 15-10. Hicklen added six more saves while facing 22 shots in Monday's win over Jacksonville.

BIG EAST Freshman Of The Week
Monica Borzillo, Cincinnati, Fr., A
Borzillo repeats at the league's top weekly rookie following a nine-point stretch that included five goals and four assists in the Bearcats' 1-1 week. Borzillo totaled two goals, two assists and two ground balls in a setback to Coastal Carolina on Friday before upping her game with a hat trick and two dishes in Sunday's win over Campbell.

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Hunter Gray, Denver, Sr., D
Gray anchored a Denver defense which allowed just six goals in a 16-6 win over UC Davis on Friday. The Pioneers held UC Davis scoreless from 2:50 in the first half to 4:17 in the second half as part of an 11-0 Denver run, forced one shot clock violation, six Aggie turnovers and only two shots in that span, both saved.
Grace Nolan, Connecticut, Jr., A
Nolan totaled 11 points off seven goals and four assists in a 1-1 week for the Huskies, including five goals, three assists in Sunday's win over New Hampshire.
Kayla Peterson, Vanderbilt, Jr., A
Peterson led the Commodores with 10 goals and one assist in a 1-1 week, highlighted by a six-goal, one-assist, four-draw control outing in Sunday's win over Furman.
