ANNAPOLIS, Md. – In its first of two duals for the weekend, Temple men's tennis picked up a 5-2 win over Navy on Friday afternoon. The win came through a surge of singles wins and marked the Owls' ninth overall win for the season.

The first three Owl duos of Vineet Naran and Florian Mayer, Artem Kapshuk and Thomas Sevel, and Uladzimir Dorash and Francisco Bohorquez all fell to Midshipmen pairs to open the dual. Filip Stipcic and Eric Biscoveanu faced off with Andrew Hicks and Walker Sims in a fourth doubles flight to pick up a 6-4 win.

Kapshuk opened up the singles play and defeated Thomas Pecor 7-5, 5-7,6-4 to kick off an unstoppable Owl lineup. His win was followed up by wins from Mayer and Sevel with Bohorquez and Biscoveanu adding wins in the fifth and sixth positions.

The Owls now stand 9-7 overall and return to action mid-week next week with a pair of duals in Tennessee. Temple faces Arkansas Pine Bluff on Tues., March 14 and returns to conference play on Wed., March 15 at Memphis.
