PHILADELPHIA - Coming off a thrilling BIG EAST overtime win at home in its last game, Temple lacrosse (8-2, 1-1) now heads to conference foe Georgetown (4-6, 2-0) for a 1 p.m. game on Saturday, April 1. The contest will be televised by the BIG EAST Digital Network (BEDN) and can be seen live on FoxSportsGo and the FoxSportsGo app.

Headlines
» Temple finished its non-conference season at 7-1, the best record in the BIG EAST. The Owls had won five straight before falling 14-6 in their BIG EAST opener at #14 Denver on March 19.
» The Owls won their first BIG EAST game in their conference home opener against Marquette in dramatic fashion on March 25. Senior Brenda McDermott scored the OT game-winner as Temple won 17-16 to improve to 8-2 overall.
» McDermott was one of three to notch a hat trick in the Marquette win, adding three assists to three goals. Junior Nicole Barretta led the Owls with a career-high five goals, while freshman Olivia Thompson added a career-high four goals.
» The Owls were picked to finish fifth among the 10 BIG EAST teams, and will need to better that pick by at least one to advance to the conference tournament at Villanova in early May.
» McDermott, named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team and named BIG EAST Attacker of the Week on Feb. 14, leads Temple in assists with 22 which ranks 13th in NCAA Division I.
» Two-time BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week already this season, senior Morgan Glassford, has a team-best 47 draw controls and ranks fourth in the league with 5.11 draws per game. Glassford has recorded 147 career draw controls to rank second all-time at Temple, needing just nine more to tie for first.
» McDermott leads Temple with 19 goals this season, while sophomore Amber Lambeth is close behind with 17. Lambeth, who went scoreless in her freshman year, had two four-goal efforts in the opening two games which were both wins for the Owls.
» Freshman goalkeeper Maryn Lowell has played five complete games and made a career-high 11 saves in helping the Owls defeat Lafayette, 18-12 on Feb. 25. Lowell is 5-1 in the cage so far this season.
» Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Kelsea Hershey notched the most recent win vs. Marquette, making six saves in 31 minutes played, including two saves early in the overtime period.

Senior Scoring
Temple lost 12 seniors to graduation after the 2016 season, leaving big holes on the stat sheet for the Owls. The 2017 senior class has proven its up to the task. While one of this year's seven seniors plays defense (Rachel Barile), the other six have accounted for 78 of the team's 125 goals so far. Four of them have reached double-figures in goal-scoring - Brenda McDermott (19), Carly Demato (16), Morgan Glassford (15) and Anna Frederick (15). Krissy Gallivan has notched eight goals, while Brooke Williams rounds out the list with four goals and is second on the team with 10 assists.

Drawing on Glass
Senior Morgan Glassford led the BIG EAST in draw controls last season, ranking 18th in NCAA Division I with 4.11 draws per game, and she shows no signs of slowing down in the 2017 season. Glassford racked up a career-high 11 draw controls in the Owls' 18-16 win vs. Monmouth on Feb. 15, including three crucial draws that helped Temple come back from a three-goal deficit with five minutes remaining.

Glassford has recorded 147 draws in her career, now ranking second all-time at Temple. She needs just nine more draws to tie for first place. So far in 2017, Glassford ranks 24th in the nation with 5.11 draw controls per game. Glassford also ranks 21st nationally with 3.33 ground balls per game.

Scouting Georgetown
The Hoyas are just 4-6 overall, but have played a challenging schedule that includes losses to four top-20 teams including No. 2 Maryland. Georgetown took No. 18 Johns Hopkins to overtime on March 1 before falling 11-10. With an 18-2 win at Butler and a 14-6 victory at UConn most recently, Georgetown is 2-0 to start BIG EAST play.

Sophomore attacker Taylor Gebhardt leads the Hoyas with 21 goals, while sophomore midfielder Francesca Whitehurst is tied with Gebhardt for the team lead in points with 14 assists to go with 12 goals. Whitehurst is also tops in draw controls for the Hoyas with 40.

Temple vs. Georgetown
Temple and Georgetown have met eight times previously, with the Owls holding a 5-3 lead in the series. Temple won 11-4 at home last season, but lost 13-12 in D.C. the year before.
