Women's Gymnastics Adds Tori Edwards to Incoming Class

PHILADELPHIA - Head coach Umme Salim-Beasley has announced the commitment of Tori Edwards for the incoming class of women's gymnastics student-athletes. Edwards hails from Manassas, Va. and joins a group of six previous commits set to begin in August of this year.

Edwards will come to Temple after training at GMS Gymnastics under head coaches Azin Manafi, B.J. Hall and Linda Ayres.

In her 2017 campaign, Edwards had a strong regular-season showing at the Metroplex Challenge where she placed third all-around with a 37.525. The day was highlighted by a 9.7 on floor. At the 2017 Virginia State Championships, Edwards placed second in the all-around with a 37.55. Her highest event placement came on beam with a silver medal after a 9.5 on the event. Edwards also placed third on floor (9.25) and fourth on vault (9.5) and bars (9.2).
She capped off her senior season with a 36.05 at the Region 7 Championship that ranked 10th overall. Her highest individual event placement came on bars with a seventh place finish (9.275).

The class of 2021 now includes Anderson along with Aryanna Anderson (TNT Elite, Inc.), Kaci Martir (Cincinnati), Delaney Garin (Capital), Erica Fuchs (Parkettes), Jordyn Oster (Harford), and Monica Servidio (Action).
