Glassford and McDermott Named to BIG EAST All-Tournament Team

PHILADELPHIA - Two Temple lacrosse seniors, Morgan Glassford and Brenda McDermott, added to their list of awards by getting named to the BIG EAST All-Tournament Team this past weekend. The pair were also recently honored as All-BIG EAST First Team selections.
The Owls, seeded fourth in the tournament, came up against top-seeded and #2 Florida in the semifinals on May 4. Temple battled, but a few big runs for the Gators put the game out of reach as the Owls lost, 21-9. McDermott tied her career high with five goals in her final game, while Glassford posted four draw controls and a caused turnover. McDermott's stat line also included three caused turnovers, two ground balls and a draw control.
Florida went on to win its third consecutive BIG EAST Championship presented by Jeep, topping Denver, 18-12, on May 6 at Villanova Stadium. The top-seeded Gators become the first BIG EAST women's lacrosse team to three-peat, clinching the conference's NCAA Tournament automatic bid. Florida was led by senior attacker Mollie Stevens, who matched the championship record with 10 goals in two tournament games to be named the championship's Most Outstanding Player.
