PHILADELPHIA - Dawson Anders, a 6-3, 160-pound incoming Temple freshman, won his first Golf Association of Philadelphia (GAP) title this week defeating Huntingdon Valley Country Club's Brian Isztwan, 6&4 on June 29 to win the GAP 103rd Junior Boys' Championship held at the par-72, 6,607-yard Spring Ford Country Club.
The final round between the two competitors had been rescheduled from its original date (June 21) due to unplayable conditions as a result of storms.
Anders, who plays out of Indian Valley Country Club, is a graduate of Souderton High. He previously had won the 2016 Montgomery County Junior Championship, the PPGA Chapter Jr. title.Â
The Telford, Pa. native became the first Owl to win the tournament since Brandon Matthews took home the Peg Burnett Trophy in 2011.
